RUSSELL VOLPE

PODIATRIST SPECIALIZING IN PEDIATRICS

Russell Volpe is a professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Orthopedics at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. For 13 years, he served as chair of the Department of Pediatrics, where he has been on the faculty since 1985. He is also a diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

He is co-editor with Peter Thomson of the Introduction to Podopediatrics, 2nd edition, published in 2001 by Elsevier. Russell writes regularly on the child’s foot and currently serves on the editorial advisory board of Podiatry Today magazine.

Russell has lectured extensively across the United States at major scientific conferences and has been a regular participant at the annual International Foot Biomechanics/PFOLA conference. Internationally, Dr. Volpe has lectured in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, England, and Scotland and was the keynote speaker at the 2006 Dutch Podiatry Congress in Doorn, The Netherlands. In November 2010, he presented an intensive pediatric podiatry course at the CESPU Institute of Podiatry in Gandra, Portugal.

In December 2011, Russell delivered several lectures at the Collegia de Podologia de Asturias, Annual Conference, Pediatrics, in Gijon, Spain. He offered numerous lectures and workshops as keynote speaker at the Australasian Podiatry Conference in Sydney, Australia in June 2013. Dr. Volpe was also a featured speaker at the first annual Richard O Schuster Memorial Biomechanics Seminar in New York in October 2013 and will return in November 2015.

Russell is in general private practice in Farmingdale, New York and in specialty foot and ankle pediatric practice in New York, New York.
