Dr. David G. Armstrong is Professor of Surgery, Director of Lower Extremity Research and Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at the University of Arizona, Tucson USA. David also holds a Master's of Science in Tissue Repair and Wound Healing from the University Of Wales College Of Medicine and a PhD from the University of Manchester College of Medicine, where he was appointed Visiting Professor of Medicine. He also co-founded the renowned National Center for Limb Preservation in Chicago.
David is the 25th and youngest ever inductee into the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Hall of Fame and received the APMA's Award of Excellence in January 2009.
He has produced more than 250 peer-reviewed research papers in more than two dozen scholarly medical journals as well as over two dozen book chapters and is co-Editor of the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) Clinical Care of the Diabetic Foot.
He is the founder and co-chair of the International Diabetic Foot Conference (DF-Con), the largest annual international symposium on the diabetic foot in the world. He is also a member of the Vasyli Think Tank.
