Lower Limb Biomechanics Advanced I & II Workshop
Presented by: Howard Dananberg, DPM
The 2 day Advanced course is comprised of the Advanced I course presented by Dr Brian Hoke and the Advanced 2 course presented by Howard Dananberg DPM.
Named among the most influential Podiatrists in America by Podiatry Management Magazine, and is a founding member of the Vasyli Think Tank™.
Howard is renowned for his work in the development of the concepts associated with Functional Hallux Limitus. His published articles on Sagittal Plane Biomechanics, his patented Kinetic wedge and work on gait-related back pain is recognized world wide. His patented invention of Insolia® - designed to alleviate foot, leg and back pain in women's heeled shoes, is distributed around the world.
Content in this course includes:
- Basics of Sagittal Plane Theory Power of Motion
- Concepts in sagittal plane motion
- Use of orthotics in the management of Functional Hallux Limitus (Fhl)
- Clinical entities (hallux limitus, plantar fasciitis, Posterior Tibial Tendonitis)
- Anatomy and Pathology of the Lower Back
- Theory of Chronic low back pain (CLBP) and sagittal plane restriction
- Evaluation of Leg Length Discrepancy both anatomical and functional
- Practical: Manipulation of the Lower Extremity, Ankle - Cuboid - Proximal Tibia - 1st MTP joint
- Concepts in patient assessment
- Orthotic prescription
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Participants will gain a thorough knowledge of Sagittal plane biomechanical function, its importance in Gait and its relationship to many common postural pathologies including Chronic low back pain (CLBP)
- Lower limb manipulation techniques to improve orthotic prescription and patient outcomes will be learned
