Vasyli – Canonbury UK Think Tank Event: May 21 – 22 2011

The 2 day biomechanics extravaganza held at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire kicked off with an opening address from Vasyli Chairman, Phillip Vasyli.  Phillip and Vasyli’s CEO Chris Gallagher’s interaction with the delegates across the 2 days was much appreciated by Practitioners and students attending.

Day 1 saw 8 didactic lectures presented by the Think Tank speakers. The dynamic Jenny McConnell featured Patellofemoral Knee Pain, presenting new research evidence for the first time, along with a fascinating lecture on Labral tears.

The ever popular Howard Dananberg spoke on Post Lateral Ankle Sprain treatments with a focus on mobilizations and Chronic Low Back Pain.

Brian Hoke’s presentations were on Metatarsalgia, an overview of the fore foot with a look at differential diagnoses and that ever tricky evaluation of a Leg Length Differential. Brian’s easy going presentation style never fails to captivate his audience.

Trevor Prior, as always gave an entertaining couple of lectures on Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome and Achilles Tendonitis. To round things off on Day 1 Dr. Ian Mathieson presented an interesting biomechanics overview in his guest speaker’s role.

Day 2 was "littered" with practical sessions both instructional and interactive. The four TT speakers took turns in the morning session of evaluating a single patient, bringing to the fore their thoughts, evaluation and treatment suggestions. This speaker interactive session was warmly received by the delegates with fantastic feedback resulting from this format.

In the afternoon, there were breakout sessions with the TT members rotating through the groups and presenting on whatever the general consensus of that particular group desired. Such is the depth and professionalism of these truly inspiring lecturers.

As promised, delegates left with an arsenal of new techniques and treatment ideas that they could implement into their clinics the next day. Here are just a few testimonials from students and practitioners alike:

"Best meeting in years" – "The speakers were so approachable and willing to explain anything we asked"- "As a graduating student this has been the highlight of my year" – "Looking forward the next one already!"

For those of you "kicking yourselves" for not attending or were simply unable to make the dates, we had the event professionally recorded and footage is currently being edited for post event broadcasting soon via Portal Education. Sign up for the new Vasyli newsletter for more details.

Vasyli Medical would like to thank the delegates and everyone associated with the organization and presentation of this memorable event.
